Erica Grant, LCSW

My Background

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, and Florida, with a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. For over a decade, I've had the privilege of working with thousands of individuals across forensic, hospital, school, and community settings, in individual, family, and couples counseling.

But credentials only tell part of the story.

Who I Really Am

I'm a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, an advocate, and a motivator. I'm also someone who has walked my own difficult path. I've worked through my own struggles, learned hard lessons about acceptance, and discovered what it truly means to show up authentically in my own life. That journey, my own healing, is what allows me to sit with you in yours without judgment. I've learned to accept myself and genuinely like the person I've become. And I believe that same journey is possible for you too.

Approach to Therapy

My Therapeutic Approach

I believe in empowering you to become the expert on your own life. My role is to help you understand the patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that have been keeping you stuck, especially the ones that feel protective but are actually exhausting you.

Together, we'll explore what's really driving your perfectionism, your anxiety, your need to achieve. We'll look honestly at the thoughts and feelings beneath the surface, and we'll work together to build new, more sustainable ways of being. This isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you. It's about understanding yourself more deeply and discovering what actually brings you peace and joy.

How I Work

My style is direct, warm, and genuinely compassionate. I won't shy away from the hard conversations, but I'll always meet you with kindness and respect. I'm here to help you build real skills and practical tools while honoring the strengths that have carried you this far. I focus on creating space where you can be completely honest. You don't have to perform or minimize here. I'll also gently hold you accountable to the changes you want to make. That's where real transformation happens.

What This Means for You

My work centers on helping you find self-acceptance, peace, and genuine fulfillment. Not just the appearance of having it all together. You'll gain insight into your patterns, develop skills to manage anxiety and trauma, and learn to live in a way that feels authentic and sustainable. You'll have support, guidance, and someone in your corner who truly believes in your capacity to heal.

Areas of Expertise

Evidence-Based Approaches That Work

I'm trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. This means I can tailor my approach to what works best for you and your unique needs.

Specialized Training in Trauma and Anxiety

I have extensive, advanced training in trauma, anxiety disorders, and stress management. I understand how traumatic or disturbing life events can shape the way you move through the world. I also know how everyday stress, life transitions, and the pressure to "keep it all together" can accumulate and eventually break you down. My training equips me to address both.

A Whole-Person Approach

I believe healing happens when we work with both the body and the mind. That's why I incorporate somatic therapy, mindfulness practices, and breathwork into our sessions. These aren't just calming techniques. They're clinically proven to reduce anxiety and depression, improve focus and self-awareness, and help your nervous system process trauma stored in your body.

When you practice meditation and breathwork with intention, your body can actually release the tension and trauma it's been holding. You learn to manage anxiety as it happens in the present moment, while also creating lasting change in how your brain and body respond to stress.

The goal is healing that lasts, not just symptom relief.
